What do you ask me to do?

It is a requirement of our policy that you secure your toolbox to the fabric of the building when it’s left unattended (e.g overnight).

We’ve included some examples below of acceptable ways to secure your toolbox.

How do other technicians do it?

option one

Secure to the wall

You can secure your toolbox by feeding a chain through a wall anchor, around the toolbox (through a handle or wheel) and lock both ends together.

option Two

Secure to the floor

Secure the ground anchor to the floor and then feed a chain through the hoop, around the toolbox (through a handle or wheel) and lock both ends together.

option three

Secure to a permanent fitting

If your garage has equipment which is permanently attached to the building, you can secure your toolbox to that instead.

As an example, this could be a vehicle ramp which is bolted to the floor. Just wrap a chain around the post, around the toolbox (through a handle or wheel) and lock both ends together.
